We offer the following types of appointment at the surgery:

If you need to cancel your appointment please click here.

In addition to the information given below, we have notes on 'Important Points to Bear in Mind' and 'How can Patients Help' with regard to appointments.

Routine Appointments:

Book your appointment online using Patient Access

Consultations are by appointment only. To book your appointment, please use one of the following methods:

Routine appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals and can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. lf your problem is not urgent please make a routine appointment with your preferred doctor. We can normally offer a routine appointment within 2 days but please make allowances for busy times of the year such as summer holidays, half terms and Christmas time as our appointments will be more limited at these times due to doctors taking holidays. By booking your routine appointment in advance, this increases the chances of seeing the doctor of your choice.

Urgent (Same Day) Appointments:

These are for those acute problems that can't wait for a routine advance appointment. These appointments are available for booking from 8:00am for the morning sessions.

The majority of these appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals but you will be advised by the receptionist if your appointment time ls shorter than 10 minutes as we have a small proportion of same day appointments booked at 5 minute intervals which are to deal with ONE problem only. If you need to be seen on the same day we should be able to offer you an appointment but please bear in mind this may not be with your preferred choice of doctor.

Emergency Appointments:

Please refer to our Emergency page for details.

Extended Hours Appointments:

In addition to our normal GP consulting sessions, we offer pre-bookable extended hours appointments. These appointments are designed for patients who would otherwise find it difficult to see a doctor during normal opening hours. Only certain doctors participate in this service arrangement and you may not be able to see your usual doctor during these times. These appointments can be made by telephoning the surgery during normal opening hours and can be booked up to four weeks in advance.

Extended Hours appointments availability can be found here.

When you book your appointment you will be advised regarding how to gain access to the surgery for your extended hours appointment.

Please note the surgery reception will not be open during extended hours for prescriptions, general enquiries and telephone bookings. We are also unable to provide nursing services during these times i.e., blood testing, dressings. chaperones etc.

You may request to see any of the doctors at the practice:

lf appointments are fully booked with the doctor of your choice, you will be offered the first available appointment with another doctor. Patients are free to express a preference to see a particular doctor or nurse and should you wish to express such a preference, please advise Reception and a note will be made in your medical record.

If Your Appointment is no Longer Needed:

If an appointment is no longer needed, it is your responsibility to inform the practice. Please cancel even at very short notice. Methods for cancelling your appointment can be found here.
