PLEASE CANCEL YOUR UNWANTED APPOINTMENTS EVEN AT SHORT NOTICE
These are for those acute problems that can't wait for a routine advance appointment. Please see our Urgent Problems and Out of Hours page for information.
Routine appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals and can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. lf your problem is not urgent please make a routine appointment with your preferred doctor. We can normally offer a routine appointment within 2 days but please make allowances for busy times of the year such as summer holidays, half terms and Christmas time as our appointments will be more limited at these times due to doctors taking holidays. By booking your routine appointment in advance, this increases the chances of seeing the doctor of your choice.
A network of GP Practices has been set up across Stafford, Rugeley and the Seisdon area of Staffordshire offering extended opening hours for pre-bookable and same day routine appointments with a healthcare professional (e.g. Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist, GP).
Telephone Advice may include queries about a prescription, a test result, a hospital appointment, a referral, a form that needs to be completed or advice about a minor ailment.
If you only need advice from the doctor or nurse you can book a telephone consultation by calling the Surgery. The doctor will call you back and discuss your problem at an allotted time. Please make sure you give the correct phone number to the receptionist.
If your enquiry is routine please avoid calling during peak times, i.e. 8am to 9am and 11am and 12noon.
lf appointments are fully booked with the doctor of your choice, you will be offered the first available appointment with another doctor. Patients are free to express a preference to see a particular doctor or nurse and should you wish to express such a preference, please advise Reception and a note will be made in your medical record.
If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged. Alternatively bring along a member of your family or friend to your appointment.
If you are unable to attend for your appointment we expect at least 24 hours notice, except in extreme cases, so that we are able to offer another patient the use of that appointment.
We have a STRICT policy for patients who regularly miss their appointments which may ultimately result in the removal of them/their family from the practice list.
