Baby and Children

Babies and children who are ill will always be seen if brought to the surgery. An appointment can be made by contacting the surgery. It you are unsure about bringing babies or children out, please telephone the surgery and a doctor will advise appropriately.

Carer Services

It is helpful to know if you have a Carer (someone who takes on an unpaid caring role) or if you are a Carer for someone else. We have a page dedicated to Carers where you can also register with us as a carer so we can provide you with additional support.

Cervical Smears

Our Practice Nurses carry out cervical smear testing. Please ensure your test is carried out mid cycle. Appointments made at Reception.

If you require further information regarding any of our services, please enquire at Reception. We have Patient Information folders in the waiting room and these are updated regularly. Please let us know if you feel there is additional information that might be useful for patients.

Childhood Immunisations

Our childhood immunisations are usually carried out by our Practice Nurse by appointment only.

Community Child Health Department will send reminder letter for routine immunisations, you will need to contact the surgery and arrange an alternative appointment.

Ear Syringing

We do not offer an ear syringing service at the practice. Patients can choose to be seen privately by another provider or can be referred by the practice to the community ENT service following a telephone consultation assessment by a Mill Bank Surgery healthcare professional.

Emergency Contraception

If you require emergency contraception, please contact the surgery within 72 hours during normal opening hours, asking our receptionist for an urgent appointment for the same day, ensuring this is within the 72 hours.

Family Planning

Our Practice Nurse is available for Family Planning and Sexual Health advice. Please make an appointment at Reception. We offer an IUCD (coil)/contraceptive fitting and removal service. Enquiries and appointments at Reception.

First Contact Physiotherapy

Any patient needing to be seen for the listed problems below, will need to have an appointment booked with the First Contact Physiotherapist, who are experts in this type of problem.

INCLUSION CRITERIA

  • All Soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains or sports injuries
  • Arthritis (any joint)
  • Possible problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons or bone, for example tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, ankle sprains
  • Spinal pain including lower back pain, mid-back pain and neck pain
  • Spinal related pain in arms or legs, including nerve symptoms, for example pins and needles or numbness

What is a First Contact Physiotherapist?

The role of a first contact physiotherapist (FCP) in primary care is to assess patients with soft tissue, muscle and joint pain and to decide on the most appropriate management pathway.

FCP’s are physiotherapists with expertise in the assessment and management of Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.

The First Contact Physiotherapist Will

  • Assess you and diagnose what’s happening
  • Give you expert advice on how best to manage your condition
  • Refer you on to specialist services if necessary

Immunisations for Foreign Travel

Our Practice Nurse is available for advice and immunisations. An appointment should be made at least 6 weeks prior to travel. Further information including access to our online travel forms can be found here.

INR Clinic

Wednesday morning between 8.30am and 12noon

Maternity Services

We provide full maternity care, with our ante natal clinics being run by a community midwife twice weekly.

Full details regarding clinic times are available at Reception, along with appointment bookings. You will be provided with written information regarding your ante natal care programme, when your pregnancy is confirmed.

We would like to point out that the doctors at this Practice do not undertake home confinements.
