Influenza (Flu)


If you are aged 65 or over or are aged 6 months to under 65 in one of the Clinical "at risk" groups listed (click here) then you are strongly advised to have a flu vaccination.

We are holding a flu clinics on:

  • Wednesday 12th September (over 65s only) 2:15pm-5:45pm
  • Wednesday 10th October 2:15pm-5:45pm
  • Wednesday 7th November 2:15pm-5:45pm

As you are probably aware, our car park does get very congested particularly at the beginning of the clinic session so we do advise arriving after 3:00pm when it is usually less busy

What is Flu?

It's not the same as the common cold. Flu is caused by a different group of viruses. Symptoms tend to be more severe and last longer.

You can catch flu – short for influenza – all year round, but it is especially common in winter, which is why it is also known as "seasonal flu".
